The project started with a series of business leadership workshops, focussing on financial management and managerial skills. The businesses then moved into an advisory period where they work with expert business mentors to build their business ideas and plans. This one-on-one mentorship was designed to facilitate productive peer-to-peer networking and build relationships. Additional training and advisory topics led the entrepreneurs to gain the ability to perform a situational assessment and to develop a plan to capture opportunities for business growth.

After the program concluded, the goal was to have developed a series of viable businesses that could each contribute to the growth of their local community. The project was committed to working with men and women entrepreneurs on an equitable basis and ensuring that gender equity is actively pursued by participating businesses.
